12 km run

I set off from Miranda's bus stop intending to do a 10 km run.

It was a beautiful morning and I felt like I could run forever, although that feeling dissipated rather quickly when I hit the hill at km 9... When I ran out of path, I just went cross country.
I'm sensing a theme this week of ending paths. Not sure what to make of it. Is someone trying to tell me to quit? Or to think outside the box and find my own path? Or maybe it is just really good training for the WCT.

Lots of lovely birdsong.

Saw these lonely tracks in the mud. They are not from a dog as there were no human tracks around. And they were huge. Probably coyote?

There were several pods of pelicans hanging out along the river.
Loving the path I found that wound along the river. Except for the spiderwebs.
Kilometer 9 is the longest uphill road you can imagine. See the houses in the top of the photo? They are still a kilometre from my house. And I'm a kilometer from them. Long way home.
I just love having a open ended amount of time to go explore with my two feet and my camera. But I'm gonna be feeling this one tomorrow. 12 km was a little long.
